While the weekend was a great one on the field for the club, there is also an element of sadness as we farewell a legend of the Clarence Football Club, club patron Mr. Clarrie Roach who passed away on the eve of the grand finals.
Clarrie was a tireless worker and supporter of the Clarence Football Club going all the way back to its time as the Bellerive Football Club. After decades of working behind the scenes for the Club’s benefit, Clarrie recently eased into a relaxed retirement (in his nineties) and was a fixture at home games and Golden Roos lunches.
Please join with the Club in extending our most heartfelt wishes to Joyce and the entire Roach family at this time. Clarrie’s contribution to the Clarence Football Club over so many years will never be forgotten – he was a towering personality who will be missed mightily.
